Exiles: Speedbowl 5 - The Splitters - 22/23 July 17 - Dorset

I've had an email from the venue asking to confirm Sunday lunch choices in advance for as many as possible, to aid with the busiest day of the week for kitchen

Having worked in catering I understand where they are coming from, but it's only a dozen or so, this time around, and wont be too much of an issue if I tell them on Saturday.

However if you do want to chose now, that's fine by me. I'll keep a list and give it to them on the Thursday or Friday, with amendments on Saturday morning.

Going by the reactions from last year, I'd recommend the chicken

Itchen, I'm assuming you are still veggie?

Choices:
Roast beef, roasties, veg, yorkie, gravy;
Nut & seed roast, roasted new potatoes, veg, yorkie, veggie gravy;
Half roast chicken, roasties, veg, yorkie, gravy;
Stuffed and roasted pork belly, roasties, veg, yorkie, gravy.


Saturday will be buffet and, again going by last year, should be very good

Nope, wasn't down this week (not sure if was meant to be or not).

Day 1, Ogres 1-2-2, which is a lot better than I expected.

Also Stunty Cup winner, mainly because I was the only Stunty team, but it's not my fault that everyone else is powergaming/sane/boring.

Halflings tomorrow, and not sure if anyone, other than me, is bringing a Stunty team or not.

Halflings also 1-2-2.

Won the Day 2 Stunty Cup, this time on merit - Merrick (who was feeling rough as $hit) only managed 1 point with his 'Flings, against me.

Overall Stunty Cup as well, but given I had twice as many games to do it wasn't a surprise.

Great tournament as always, so big props to Al and Fern.

Thanks to my 8 (well, 10, but you know what I mean) opponents - all 10 games were enjoyable, even if a couple were uncomfortable to sit through at the end.
I'll take 3 Stunty Cups, even if only one was really contested. Especially happy with not being bottom either day.

Highlights for me:
Vs Landrover - "He's not sent off, it's just my D&I box is to full!"
Vs Merrick in the #GreatHalflingBakeOff - scoring with Deeproot to equalise, then getting lucky on the TTM scatter so he couldn't score for the win (and commiserations for feeling so ill - surprised you lasted the weekend).
Vs Hawk - somehow pulling off some Elf-BS (with Halflings) in T16 to get a win!

Just for my own amusement, I took everyones total scores and worked out placings - I put those that managed both days above those lightweights that only did one "because".
(Note: this doesn't take SoS into account - I'm sure Al can flag up any errors if anyone is really bothered.)
