Are there more options in the actual book for each list than what are in the free pdf rules? By options I mean hero/troop types but also weapon and armour options?

Lists are the same in the book as in the PDF, just formatted differently (the book has more pics).

From what I can gather* they will increase the options (both types and equipment) per faction as they release new figures, but I don't know how they are planning to do this, whether it's cards, online, new books - honestly no idea.
It does say on the back cover of the book that these are the "basic force lists" which does suggest more to come.

* It seems much of this was discussed on the Kickstarter comments section and/or the early Facebook group(s), neither of which I followed, so I might have the wrong end of the stick on some, or all, of this.

The front rear arc split is a straight line across the back of the base so round bases would make that difficult

To those that do have it, is there anyway with the expanded equipment list that any of the elf warband can be equipped with two handed weapons?

There's a "Heavy Weapon" in the Basic Equipment list that would do the job, though unless you're playing a one-off game you're not guaranteed to get it.

As far as I can tell, the slight delay on mine was due to the resin dwarf warband, so shouldn't have any impact on rulebook orders.

Mine just got rescheduled for delivery tomorrow

Yeah, the resin dwarfs were pushed to the back of the queue.
