If it is a proper little skirmisher, rather than mini 40k, i'd be more up for that. But it depends on what it's bringing to the table.
Speculation elsewhere on the net reckons it will be similar to Warcry.

A lot of my scepticism is coming from not wanting to buy into yet another flurry of updates, changes and new things from GW. It's literally non stop with no breathing space.

Unless you're an Eldar or Nids player...

There may be more specialist squads like the box set pair released later, but the core 40k figures are up on the website and are the normal mix of stuff:

Ooh, I see Custodes in there as a faction

If the rules book is cheaper than a codex I could be tempted

So this post https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... datacards/ makes it look like the rules will be very different to 40k, maybe somewhere near to Warcry though.
I fear the datacards will be stifling customisation further than the current version did. Also, not sure what exactly the distance mechanic will do differently to just defining distances as whole numbers. But the high wounds and alternating activations will stop it just being a turn 1 kill-fest.

I hope they've learnt from the unbalanced mess that was warcry. It certainly sounds similar rules wise.

These are from a post Chris S posted on (not seen them in the Kill Team group).

Maybe you move by placing the template and moving your figure to the other side of it? So a [circle] of move is 2” plus your base size rather than just 2”?

Maybe 3 [circle] move means strictly three straight line moves of up to [circle] distance and some minis will be better at cornering than others?

I dunno, it’s all a bit weird.

Games Workshop really out here trying to say they've come up with a better numbering system than...numbers?

My assumption was that each circle of movement was a straight line and you can corner between movements. You probably lose a circle or two when you get injured..? Or downgrade to triangle?

It will help the eBay 3d printing industry boom, because no one will want to pay the inevitable £12 for a set of templates

It’s 1/2/3 inches. A tape measure probably still does the job!
