Understanding Summoning

Thought I best get this understood before Tuesday as I have the potential to summon stuff.

Having read the core rulebook, errata and the GG2 update ( ) it’s actually quite straight forward........

The turn a model is summoned it:
1) Does not count for scoring friendly schemes or strategies.
2) Cannot take the interact action.

In the subsequent turns of the game the model:
1) Cannot interact with any strategy markers.
2) Can take the interact action and count towards scoring schemes.

So in the case of Turf War strategy, my summoned model kills an enemy model, I can flip the strategy marker to neutral as he’s not interacting with it...

All sorted, right!?

Not on the turn he was summoned.

On the turn he is summoned he is IGNORED for friendly Schemes and Strats. So he is ineligible for the ‘When a friendly model kills…’ bit of Turf War and can’t flip Strat markers.

Right, but post summoning turns he could flip it to neutral by killing he just can’t interact with it to make it neutral/friendly?

Sure, once he’s past his summoning in turn he’s fine for that as it doesn’t involve taking an interaction action with a Strat marker.

I'm glad you asked now, because we might both have this come up

I've got another question on this.

A summoned unit kills a model on the turn it was summoned, a corpse/scrap marker is left behind. Does this marker count towards schemes (e.g research mission) even though the summoned (and so ignored) model did the kill?

On the flip side

A summoned model is killed on the turn it was summoned. Does its corpse/scrap marker count towards a scheme (as above) or not?

I follow that the model will not count, but what about the subsequent marker it leaves behind (if any) upon being killed?

I hope that’s right. Otherwise we will have to somehow differentiate between corpse markers dropped by summoned models and those dropped by others. I think they aren’t technically scoring the scheme/strat at the time they drop the marker so all is ok (?).

I can’t find anything that says summoned models don’t drop markers.

same, and no stipulations in the scheme/strat wordings about them either. so a marker is likely just a marker

The markers they drop will be fine.
