Can I ask some basic gameplay questions.

Looking at the KoM list, why would you not take hordes over regiments? Does KoW play better with MSU style army lists?

I have been playing around with a KoM list that has 7 hordes in it, I think it would look really cool but would it be crap on the table?

Cheers

Hordes are hard to manoeuvre with and keep in mind that it only takes a tiny amount of the unit clipping an area of terrain to cause a hindered charge. Also if say two regiments charged a horde, it would only be allowed to counter charge one leaving the other regiment free to wander off or charge again the following turn getting any thunderous charge bonus it might have. Hordes are really good value but really the best way is to have a few hordes backed up by smaller units you can leave behind of objectives or to protect your flanks.

Protecting flanks is key. The bonuses for side and rear charges are way more than anything you've seen in fantasy or it's like.

Ok, thanks.

So what’s the plan here, 1,000 points by Sep/Oct?

I think the original plan was based around me. I'm planning to buy a starter set in July and paint through to the end of August. Then some games with what we have.
My original nature theme seems to have been nudged aside by the new Basileans so I'm thinking of trying to stretch to the mega army.

My plans might be coming to mild stop for a bit...

Between that, and talking with Gary about new goblin models and the new Basilean mega army, i'm thinking I might hold off a couple of months
