Dreadball league

Dreadball league

Postby Darkson (Simon) » Wed Nov 22, 2023 9:18 pm

Some sort of vague plan to have a Dreadball league going in the NEw Year, possibly/probably once the Necromunda campaign has run its course.
Between us there should be spare teams for anyone that needs to borrow one, I think we have at least 4 people in the club that have one of each.

Nothing concrete planned on how the league will run, but it might be possible to get two games in a night, or at least games are quick enough that people can play something else afterwards.

I've pinned this folder to Discord, but will link here as well.

I'll play rats since they are painted already and I have way too much I need to get painted elsewhere

Leaning towards, no idea why, dwarves (not sure on flavour), but if someone else wants to do them, feel free to save me!

Anyone else? I know Gary has said he'd probably join in, and Mike is no for league, but will play pick up games?

For those that are going to play:
What would you prefer - a 'normal' league where your team can progress (or regress) after each game, or something more akin to how a Blood Bowl tournament works (i.e. you are fixed a certain level of development, and the team resets to this after each game regardless)?

For those that are either not playing or haven't said either way, what, if anything, would make you interested? "Nothing" is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Preference for ‘normal’ but not too fussed.

Normal for me too.

I think the tournament approach works if you understand teams and want a test of skill against like minded folk.

Given we’ve not played dreadball much/at all, the more random and organic league with progression feels more fun and aligned with our skill levels at the game.

Wasnt particularly interested in theory and now I've watched a video of the gameplay and its not for me, so I'll be sitting this one out.
