Just read the latest comments about the games direction and I will have to keep calm.
Cards are basically out
They have made it more brutal
No mention as yet of campaign and recovering :?:

What the f  they might as well call it something else like proto warpath firefight.

Mantic's version of AOS springs to mind. At least I can use the models and scenery for warpath if DZ is crap

Ouch, no company deserves that.

I thought I read the in-game cards are still going to be there, just changed, whereas the mission and force cards are going to be replaced with ann A4 sheet with all the details.

Nothing to say you (we) have to play Redux - there's enough DZ (original) sets around.

Does mean I'm going to hold off on reading the rulebook for the time being though.

Been reading through the available info and I think there is a lot of overreacting going on here.

Stat cards are replaced with an army reference sheet (which contains the same info)
Models have points costs still
Armies are built around their commander and have model restrictions (a bit like using the warmachine theme lists)
Campaigns are a thing still and your models stats change over the course of them
Rolls work like before but some of the modifiers have changed

There is nothing AOS about this at all except in the streamlining of some of the rules to speed up play (which is the part of AOS that I am fine with)

Where's this info? I did like DZ and was sad to see it dwindle, but the issues it had were impossible to deny.

Ah it's being updated again! I'd given up checking on that when he kept disappearing for months on end.

I have to say you look like you've bought into internet hyperbole a tad Simon. All the limited info there sounds fine in principle to me, I'll be interested to see what has replaced the action cards but luck of the draw could make a huge difference before. And more restricted list building sounds like a good fix the frankly overpowered Plague issue.

I think you have me confused with someone else (Mike), I'm firmly on the "wait and see" fence, especially as I've not really played it properly. I think sheets rather than cards for armies is a better solution, the cards I found to be a bit of pain.
