Deadzone Campaign

As discussed last night, I suggest we jump straight into getting a campaign going as soon as possible. I think the best approach to this is to have it be a fairly relaxed affair so people can hop in and out of the campaign as it progresses with no requirement to play more games than they wish to. Since games are played at a fixed points level and with a balancing mechanic to even out games against more experienced strike teams this shouldn't be a problem. I propose the following:

Start date: Whenever anyone wants to declare their game is a campaign one. Most likely 24th onwards as I think the games on the 17th are learning ones?
End date: When everyone is bored of it or gets distracted by the next big thing.
Starting roster: 500 points (as per standard rules).
Game size: 100/150/200 points as agreed by the players involved (to give people extra flexibility as some people have time constraints some nights).
Win condition: We need to think about this because the official rule assumes everyone played the same number of games. I expect it will become fairly obvious after a while who did best anyway.

I'll use this thread to track the current state of things.

Good shout, I’m definitely in with the Rebs please. Relaxed drop in campaign sounds good to me.

And Mantic are running their global campaign for a month from the 15th I think, so we could also record games on their website to be part of the action.

Provisionally in with Enforcers, depending on how the learning game (or two) go.

GCPS for me.

I have models and a handful of D8s but nothing else.

I’m also away for most of June so a dip in and out approach works best for me.

Gary question: your 500pt roster. We assume you then pick your game force from that.
Is there a death/injury thing in the campaign rules (neither of us have the book) that mean you lose models?

Yes there is, and I think they can be forced to miss a game as well. Best way is to have duplicates on things in the 500 points so you have extra guys to fill in for injured ones. The 500 point roster follows the normal army construction rules except you can take any number of leaders. There's no need to have enough models for the full 500 points, you will never use more than 200 points of it at once.
