For 40K, and games set in the 40K universe

Looking at the Marine list, and am I being an idiot and missing something or is a 10 man devastator squad literally a 10 man tactical squad for 2 less points with the option to take up to 4 heavy weapons instead of 1? Possibly being in a troops slot is better but surely not 2 points per squad better?

Where are you getting your 6mm stuff from? The GW Titanicus kits are really nice (but limited), and the game is ace too.

Just a general browse around. Was looking at Vanguard miniatures. The Onslaught range on there is nice though for Knights.
Also trawling eBay

10 man tac squad with heavy is 10pts
10 man dev squad with 4 heavy is 11pts (7 without any heavy weapons, bit they only have close combat weapons)

Seems a bit unbalanced. If you have the models you could just heavy weapon spam for an extra point per squad as a speartip detachment instead of a battalion one

You don't even have to buy 4 heavy weapons, you can literally take a devastator squad with 3 heavy weapons for the same cost as the tactical squad with 1, this also makes your squads heavy support which if anything makes life easier for forming detachments.

So i saw on Vanguard that it's possible to pick up 80 'terminators' for £16. I may have ordered a 360 pt Dark Angel army comprised of Deathwing and Ravenwing in 6mm. With a Thunderhawk. I'm debating on whether to soup in some Custodes or have Deathwing Knights.

Ultramarines.png

1.5 battle companies of ultramarines with bike and land speeder support (in progress)
I need some tanks really but I think they are in the loft. Anyway, this lot comes to 369 points assuming some abstractions on unit sizes and load outs

Well that escalated quickly!

Cool stuff! Wish I still had all my epic stuff, Apocalypse suits that scale so much better.

I already had all that. That's the state I left it in last time I decided to sort it out. I've just pulled it out the box and written a list, that's all for now.

That is awesome

I'll be on the line bases rather circle bases though. Not sure how to resolve running individual characters as there aren't command squad options for Apocalypse.
