The chainmail is just contrast Gryph-Charger Grey. The plates are contrast Basilicanum Grey with a bit of a dry brush of some ancient Boltgun Metal metallic paint.

It’s got an almost NMM look to it, I like it.

I think having a strong light (from another phone in torch mode) shining at it while I took the picture helps pick up the metallic highlight reflections.

Actually followed through on a modelling whim fairly quickly.

Test model for the TV competition entry as clearly the real entry I try to properly obsess over will be the Exarch. I'm learning that I can get good results if I go back to put a bit more effort into edge highlighting etc, and also that I really can't be arsed with stuff like that on the regular and quickly default to 'good enough, move on'!

Quite happy with the overall scheme. Contrast paint set a lovely base for the blue armour. The gun is a bit meh with the mass of black, but then the Exarch doesn't have one.

That blue and the helmet plume especially have come out really nice. It's not the mass of black that makes the gun look odd to me, I think it's the hands being the same colour as the gun instead of blue like the rest of the suit that throws it off?

True. I was just copying the box art colours which also has black hands.

He’s cool.

I’ve had a look at the box and they appear to have blue fingers (with the back of the hand black). He looks good as is.

What load out for the exarch? The spear looks cool, does he have double gauntlet mounted catapults as an option?

Spear and shield looks coolest, but dual catapults seems to be usually the 'right' choice rules-wise (so says the internet). I may try playing with magnets but the joints are tiny.

looking good, really like that blue.

I'd be tempted to pick the raised edges of the hands out in blue to separate them from the black of the gun.

I think for future ones I'll just go fully blue hands.
