Jamie’s adventures in painting

Postby ErebusMort » Fri Apr 14, 2023 5:09 pm

Thought I’d start one of these threads to encourage me to keep painting - first up is the salamanders army that I’ve started for Kings of war. These fellas are three regiments of salamander primes

A picture to show the multibasing (I went with 75% of the ideal 20 figures as it was pretty crowded on the base

And a small unit of the more elite ceremonial guard

Next up are the more unusual units, but I wanted to get the rank and file done first.

Looking good! I find even the 75% can be a bit much on a multi base, think I might try a slightly lower model count if I come back to the game

Excellent, always been partial to a good lizard man!

More stuff painted, this time the more fun and unusual stuff

First up, lesser fire elementals

Next up, some tyrants. Cheating on the number needed for a horde, but I wanted to get the army finished ASAP so might bulk them out at a later date

Some scorchwings, magical birds

And the big fella, the Phoenix (28mm figure for scale)

Great fire effect!

Three big crocodiles looks absolutely fine to me on that base.

I have 4 units left to do and then I’m at 2,000 - the good news is that those 4 units are only 8 (chunky) models altogether.

Quite nice to be able to rattle through them.

Given I’m such a hobby butterfly and I have a load of half finished projects, I’m really pleased that I’ve got this army to 2k points before moving onto something else

IMG_4302.jpeg

These are a five strong unit of rhinosaurus cavalry (who doesn’t love lizardmen riding rhino lizards?), a rhinosaur hero (split out from the two sets of three that make up the unit), a Lekelidon (the lizard thing) and a gekkotah sky lord (little lizard man on a flamey bird thing).

Not only are they finished, using the magic of magnetic sheets I’ve sorted their transport and storage too. The multibasing in kings of war makes this a great option
