Half way there, always a nice feeling.

What is the green stuff on the base? It doesn’t look like normal flock, more of a sludge or moss look to it.

It's Vallejo Rough Grey Pumice Paste. It's like a resin goop with textured bits in - like the GW stuff but stickier/thicker and easier to mould. The skulls are just pushed into it, when it dries they hold place, used it for the Redemptionists too, slopped it on the bases, then pushed a bunch of random offcuts etc.. into the paste.

I painted it Elysian green, washed with Biel Tan Green, then lightly dry brushed with Yriel yellow and Emperor's Children pink.

Made this fun discovery on the internet, so my next 500 PTS theme will be based off this idea..

The Imperial Fists are the main Chapter based on Necromunda today. and were called there originally to remove the Ork invasion presence. Necromunda is one of the two planets from which the Imperial Fists recruit new members, the other being Holy Terra.

Imperial Fistmas

Rumours exist that the Imperial Fists' primarch Rogal Dorn came to Necromunda along with his legion, and survive in the form of Imperial Fistmas, a holiday season for the citizens of Necromunda.

Blood Angels

The Blood Angels also have Marines stationed on Necromunda, who are identified by wearing black right shoulder pads. They often also wear an ornate golden left shoulder pad emblazoned with "Necromunda" below the Chapter Insignia to distinguish themselves.

The Christmas thing isn't part of the idea, but I left that in because it's fun.
