Map Based Campaign - KoW(?)

Postby Dave » Mon Sep 28, 2015 1:33 pm

Crossover post from the mantic sub forum.

I would like to start a map based campaign and I think KoW will lend itself well to this (other suggestions welcomed, WarMaster perhaps?)

I have everything needed for a 2-6 player campaign but could stretch this to 8 if required (not expecting that much interest to be honest).

Depending on if there is any interest the plan is to get the map sorted for next week, roll some territories and then look to start the campaign at the end of October with a commitment of probably one club night in four given to the campaign.

Let me know if you're interested and if you don't like KoW would another system be preferred.

Any other ideas welcomed.

Cheers,
Dave

Using some kind of pre-written map based campaign system or something of your own devising?

Doubt I have the time for another organised thing, plus the only way I'd be playing KoW would be with printed photos on movement trays, but interested as to how you were going to run it.

Using the original Mighty Empires rules with some minor modifications. It is a good stand alone game in its own right too.

You could use templates if you wanted, it is the ARBBL club after all.

KoW really only needs unit-sized bases, with a few models of the right type scattered on them - doesn't need the massed ranks like WFB did.

Just realised I sounded a bit arsey towards Tom with this! Wasn't meant to be, was more directed at captain "I don't even know what a glue pot is let alone paint" :P

The more the merrier for this though!
