I will add that my recommendation comes from someone who has actually played both versions.

If only gorkamorka actually worked with any currently available models. The weird small bases are kind of a requirement with how the transport rules work.

I'm with Dave on all this. Mike, you don't need to pick up anything to play new necromunda. We have plenty of copies of the rules floating about between us. As much as I liked the old necromunda campaign system, the actual in game experience was always terrible. The new version, for all it's flaws, definitely doesn't have this problem.
