Solo gaming

While it's obviously topical now anyway, I'm on the lookout for solo gaming ideas, as the 4-out-of-5 leaving early on Tuesdays* really puts a dent in what I can and can't play at club, plus I have a family that has zero interest in anything gaming related**, except for maybe Fluxx.

So with that in mind (and given that I already have Rangers) here's some recommendations from Tabletop Gaming magazine. Has anyone played any of these in solo mode? I know a few of us have played Scythe (which I enjoyed), but that was multi-player.

Top 10 games to play by yourself: https://www.tabletopgaming.co.uk/featur ... -yourself/

And if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears - ideally would like to keep away from games where the models need building (looking at you Shadows!) but willing to look at anything from card games up to big multi-session games.

* Yes, I know there's the occansional "I'm free on XXX" post here, and there's Friday down the shop, but they all still suffer from the night-worker syndrome.
** Mike, after the begging for me to get the stuff from the hall, they didn't play any of the games I picked up.

I will be honest I have quite a few games that work very well as a solo game but the setting up tends to put me off.

I've been playing kingdom death with a friend over webcam which works okish. If you have a decent pc you can get a lot of computer versions of board games on Steam which run really well.

Scythe is a really good solo game and the automata works excellently but the setup time is a bit of a pain.

Ditto gloomhaven. Absolutely amazing solo game but a real pain to setup.
