Iā€™ve not really kept up with 3e rules so not sure if a decent cache is needed.

Getting back into Malifaux, first game of 3e and it was an epically long game game but good fun.

What would have been a respectable 7-6 defeat turned into a rather poor 7-4 loss for me, entirely down to some last turn ricocheting Guild rifleman shenanigans!

Good to hear that it was a success. What strats and schemes did you end up playing? I suppose the big question is, how well does it play and how did you find you relatively small SS cache?

I actually took no cache and didn't really feel for the lack of it. Maybe a bit of damage reduction might have meant Lucius survived the game, but his built in permanent negative flip to be attacked made him very survivable as is, and a variety of extra card shenanigans kept me mostly okay for suits. The Lawyers can now pick up the top card of the discard at the start of their turn which is very nice. Use a 13 for defence to dodge an attack and then pick it straight back up again!

QR code for starts/schemes is earlier in the thread. Strat was removing 4 markers in enemy territory via interaction. Schemes I took were taking engaging a specific isolated enemy model (which we both took and managed to have our two nominated models both score off each other) and spreading out a bunch of scheme markers on the opposing half of the table.

Sorry, deleted as it was making the thread look funny on my iPad.

As to soul stones, I had 4 and and would liked to have had 2 more!

The game still plays like Malifaux so no worries on that front. I like the new pass mechanic and itā€™s just a case of learning the new conditions and nuances of the rules tweaks.

Looking forward to getting back into it and getting a game in in the near future.

Tom, I've still got your updated cards that I ought to get to you at some point soon - I'll have to try and pop in briefly to drop them off.
